The UNESCO 3d International Conference on Learning Cities took place in Cork, Ireland from 18 to 20 September 2017. About 600 participants from 16 countries take part in it. On the conference Russia is represented by the delegation from Ufa led by Syntimir Bayazitov, Deputy Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration. The main purpose of the conference is to establish a global contact and implement “Learning Cities” project at local level. The program of event provides an opportunity for participants to share their experience and establish partnership relations.
Today, a telephone conversation took place between the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova. During the conversation, the sides discussed prospects for expanding the region's interaction with the international organization, the creation of the first Geopark in the country located in the republican territory, the inclusion of unique monuments of nature and culture of Bashkortostan into the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part in the meeting of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with the leaders of the five constituent entities of the Russian Federation on issues of Eurasian humanitarian cooperation in Moscow. It was also attended by the Heads of Altai, Tatarstan, Khakassia and Yakutia. Prospects of using the potential of the Russian regions in advancing humanitarian aspects of integration in the Eurasian continent were discussed during the meeting.
Young talents will present Bashkortostan at the sixteenth Youth Delphic Games of Russia. The quota for the region is 20 people. The selection rounds were attended by students of Secondary Special Music College, Rudolf Nureyev’s Bashkir Choreographic College, the Ufa College of Arts, Sibai College of Arts, Almuhametov’s Republican Gymnasium, Ufa Music School No.1, as well as the art schools of Oktyabrsky, Sterlitamak, Beloretsk, Sterlitamak and Belebey regions. Videos of students were viewed by a special commission.
The Ministry of Ecology of Bashkortostan has proposed to implement the Russia's first pilot project on creating a geopark under the auspices of UNESCO in the northeast region of Bashkiria. The idea to establish in the republic a new kind of protected area was announced during a working meeting of the Head of the Region with the executive secretary of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO Affairs Grigory Ordzhonikidze. The initiative was supported by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Russia.
The Republican Festival of Native Languages named after J.Kiekbaev will be held on 21 of February 2017 by the committee of Bashkortostan Republic for UNESCO with the Ministry of Education of Bashkortostan Republic and UNESCO Associated School «Gymnasium №39» which is always holding under the auspice of UNESCO all around the world. The festival is one day with the International Day of Mother-tongue (21 February), which was established by the General Conference of UNESCO in 1999 purposely to protect linguistic and cultural diversity.
During the year of ecology in Russia Bashkir state special library for blind people offer to visit the exhibition of Raif Badikov’s photographs «Dipping in the frame» containing more than 30 works including the photowork "Solaris" from the "Best Photos of Russia" list in 2011.
Under the instruction of the Head of Bashkortostan Republic Rustem Khamitov the 3G network was provided in the nature reserve Shulgan-Tash in the Burzian region. Now there are all the conditions for using mobile internet and voice connection. The Chairman of the State Informatization Committee Rinat Shagalin said that it was the first step in developing the infrastructure of the main Bashkortostan nature monument.
