Universities
In Bashkortostan, there are two UNESCO chairs: Education in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society at the Bashkir State University (opened on April 11, 2003) and Training of a multifunctional teacher for a modern rural school at M. Akmulla Bashkir State Pedagogical University (opened on July 11, 2014).
UNESCO chairs in the Republic of Bashkortostan are involved in the international UNESCO movement. They took part in the round-table discussions and the presentation of the Republic of Bashkortostan at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on October 1, 2013. In November 2015, Bashkir State University hosted the international conference dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the UN and UNESCO. The chairs also take part in the national congresses of the UNESCO chairs, Coordination Committee of UNESCO chairs of the Russian Federation, and other relevant events.
In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan "On the action plan for the implementation of the Communique Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and UNESCO" dated July 3, 2015, it is planned to open UNESCO Chairs at Ufa State Aviation Technical University and Ufa State Petroleum Technical University.
In 2012, the UNESCO-UNEVOC Center was established at Ufa's Bashkir Institute of Social Technologies to promote the best practices in vocational education as well as participate in video conferences, seminars, meetings, etc.
