On March 2, the Interdisciplinary National Research-to-Practice Language Conference “Science. Languages. Future” was held on the premises of UNESCO Associated School No. 103 with advanced curriculum in foreign languages. It is organized with the support of the Committee of the Bashkortostan Republic for UNESCO and the Department of Education of Ufa.
The aim of the conference is to intensify research, practical and creative activities of students in different subject-matter areas and to find gifted children, create conditions for their development and independence. The working languages of the conference were Russian, Bashkir, English, German, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
The conference received around 235 student works from Moscow, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Belebey, Beloretsk, Neftekamsk, Sterlitamak, Tuimazy; and regional districts Blagovarsky, Zilairsky, Ilishevsky, Kushnarenkovsky, Meleuzovsky, Chekmagushevsky, Sterlitamaksky and other areas.
Despite the fact that it was frosty weather, 172 young researchers (grades 1-11) from 54 schools in the cities and districts of the Bashkortostan Republic and Chelyabinsk presented their scientific works and projects.
Twenty sessions took place during the conference: 5 for elementary school (mathematics and computer science, literature, history and regional study, art and culture, global studies) and 15 for high school (history and regional study, Russian language and literature, English language, German language, Bashkir and Tatar languages, mathematics and computer science, physics, chemistry, biology and ecology, geography, social science and law, psychology, and culture of the peoples of the world). Most of the submitted works, as expected, were in the sessions “Foreign languages,” “Native languages,” “History and local history,” “Biology,” “World around.” In the section “Culture of the peoples of the world” works about the culture, traditions, and customs of Chinese and Vietnamese, German and English, Russian and Bashkir people were presented.
The expert groups of each session was headed by invited scientists, doctors and candidates of science from Bashkir State University and Pedagogical University, in total 22 scientists together with the teacher's jury determined the winners and laureates.
For teachers and guests of the conference, master class “Development of the cognitive independence of younger school students” was organized. The master class was held by the teacher-master of primary classes Natalia Kozina and psychologist-speech therapist M.Y. Danilova who spoke about psychological relief.
On the same day, participants could purchase a collection of the conference materials.
During the breaks between sessions, young researchers had an opportunity to relax in the sensory room, learn to dance waltz in the dance room, and watch cartoons. In addition, they could play table tennis and football in the games room.
