This year, the event was devoted to two dates: the 20th anniversary of cooperation between Bashkortostan and UNESCO and the 70th anniversary of the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University.
The Festival of Languages is a cultural and educational event dedicated to languages, linguistics and intercultural communication organized in the framework of the international educational project "Festival of Languages."
The organizers of the 4th International Festival were the Committee of Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO, State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and Ufa State Petroleum Technical University, in particular, the Department on Education, the Institute of Economics and Service, and the Department of Foreign Region Studies and History. The guests of the Festival were immersed in the festive and friendly family atmosphere.
The festival as usually included 10-minute presentations of 43 languages of the world's peoples, whereby one could hear how these languages sound. The participants of the Festival got acquainted with the interesting facts of the history and structure of language families: Indo-European, Sino-Tibetan, Ural-Altaic, including Turkic, and Finno-Ugric languages. Participants communicated with representatives of different cultures, as well as learned about a number of ancient languages of the Paleo-Balkan zone, small ethnicities, and tribes. The most popular languages at the Festival were Russian, Bashkir, Tatar, English, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tajik, Spanish, Vietnamese, Portuguese, and French.
In addition to presentations, there were linguistic competitions, language clubs, linguo-concert, cognitive lectures on linguistics, master classes, which discussed the less-used "vulnerable" languages of the peoples of Russia and the native people of Australia, Indochina, America, and Africa.
At the end of the Festival of Languages, all participants were awarded Certificates of a participant, and their superiors and volunteers were given Appreciation Letters of the organizers of the International Festival of Languages of the Peoples of World in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Within the framework of the Festival of Languages, visitors could enjoy photo exhibitions "We are Your Children, Planet Earth" and "Cultural World of the USPTU".
The festival program of presentations of the languages of the peoples of the world ended with the holiday of international art "NAVRUZ invites friends" in the 8th building (Ordzhonikidze Palace).
