The event is dedicated to the urgent issues of preservation and popularization of the unique architectural heritage, ancient rock paintings of Shulgan-Tash cave. The theme of the plenary session is "Towards nomination on the World Heritage List: problems and perspectives".
Scientists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and foreign experts take part in the symposium: Eudal Guillamet is an international expert in the field of restoration of rock art (Andorra la Vella, Principality of Andorra); Laurent Lescot - Senior Lecturer, Higher National School of Architecture, Nantes, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Ministry of Culture (Génèvilliers, France); Stefan Konik - Engineer of the National Center of Prehistoric Age, Ministry of Culture (Perigueux, France); Emelin Deneuve is the curator of the Regional Department of Archeology in New Aquitaine (Rouen, France), Stefan Faille is the head of the archeology department at the Federal Museum of Lower Saxony in Hanover.
This morning the participants of the event inspected the cave and said that they were very impressed with what they saw and are sure that the object is worthy of being included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Head of Environmental Protection Department of Bashkortostan Ilgam Fatkullin, who welcomed the participants on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The participants of the event give presentations, exchange experiences of scientific and practical activities. Within the framework of the event a round table "Signs and images in images on rocks and art of small forms" will be held. The symposium will end on Saturday, June 23.

The first 3D model of Shulgan-Tash Cave famous due to the rock paintings of the Paleolithic epoch was created.
The project was presented to the participants of the 4th International Symposium "Turning into Museums Historical and Cultural Heritage: Theory and Practice". Moscow experts described in detail the visualization tools.
336 laser scanning items were installed to create a virtual model inside the cave. Since the cave has a complex shape, 16.4 billion points with spatial coordinates were obtained.
These days, an entrance to the cave was photographed from an unmanned aerial vehicle. At the same time about 20 sq. km around the cave are subject to air scanning.
A team of 10 people works on the project. Total 16380 photos for detailed modeling of the cave walls sections were made in the main gallery of the cave, the halls "Stalagmitovy", "Dome", "Signs", "Chaos", "Drawings", "Near well" and others.
"It is planned to make a virtual museum and to broadcast the information about the cave via the Internet", a 3D scanning specialist Yuri Svoisky told the Bashinform agency.
According to experts, the data will later be used both for scientific purposes to monitor the cave, assess the condition of rock carvings, changes in it, the danger of tectonic factors for rock paintings, analysis of water supply regulations, and for educational purposes.
In addition to the museum, which will be created within the "Shulgan-Tash" historical-cultural complex to the 100th anniversary of the republic, a virtual museum will also appear here.

In Bashkiria, a scientific and methodological council will be established, coordinating research in the Shulgan-Tash cave. This is one of the points of resolutions adopted by the participants of the IV International Symposium "Museification of Historical and Cultural Heritage: Theory and Practice".
The event ended the day before in the Burzyan region of Bashkortostan. The symposium was organized in connection with the promotion of the unique cultural heritage site "Kapova Cave with Paleolithic Painting" in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Large international and Russian scientists gathered at the International Forum. They participated in a field trip to the underground chamber of a cultural heritage "Kapova caves with Paleolithic paintings", visited the museum and sightseeing complexes Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Shulgan-Tash" and the State Natural Reserve "Shulgan-Tash." Some of the guests first visited the Shulgan-Tash cave and were amazed by what they saw.
"This is the first time I've come here. It exceeds all my wildest expectations! I've seen similar caves in France, and it's a real miracle for me to see a similar cave in Eurasia. The drawings were miraculously preserved under a layer of calcite. I was very interested in the style in which animals are made - this is different from the western style. Signs that are unique have not yet been unraveled, "says Stefan Fayle, head of the department of archeology at the Federal Museum of Lower Saxony in Hanover.
"The first vivid impression was already from the monumental entrance to the cave. When you look at the walls, at some point they disappear in the dark. A long enough cave, to the first drawings of considerable distance. But this way is worth it, because the impressions are really the strongest, "- said French architect Laurent Lescaut.
"Impressions are absolutely fantastic, a monument of truly World Heritage. I think that the issues that are discussed at conferences on the list of changes, which states: "All broad prospects," - all cherished prospects - Ensemble Head of the Department of Archeology Academy of Sciences and the Moscow Architecture Institute Alexander Rabotkevich.
Participants of the event made presentations, exchanged experience of scientific and practical activities. 21 scientific reports were submitted to the organizing committee of the conference. Based on the results of the symposium, it is planned to publish a collection of scientific articles.
"This scientific event is becoming a good tradition. The gathering of scientists at this site gives a good impulse forward. In its resolution the participants of the IV International Symposium expressed concern about the environmental safety of cultural heritage "Kapova cave with paintings of the Paleolithic" safety Palaeolithic paintings and spontaneous development of the territory adjacent to the museum and excursion complex of the State Nature Reserve "Shulgan-Tash" objects of agricultural, trading and guest infrastructure.
Clearing in the Hall of Chaos on the panel "Horses and signs" will be continued. Inside the cave, in particular in wetlands, it is proposed to install ladders.
Participants requested the Office of the state protection of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus to finance research on the biology and CO2 and establish on the basis GBU Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Cave Shulgan-Tash" single information system, accumulating information on research in the cave (including climatic, biological)
