The opening of the X International Forum of UNESCO non-governmental partners titled "Science as good of mankind" took place in Moscow. The organizers of the large-scale scientific event were the International Public Foundation, Russian Foundation for Peace, and the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the UNESCO Secretariat. More than 100 representatives of UNESCO Member States, prominent scholars, public and state figures have been invited to discuss topical issues. V.I. Vernadskiy Foundation, which holds a consultative status with UNESCO since 2015, was represented by the President of the Foundation V.A. Grachev and Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation A.A. Cheshev.
More than 100 representatives of UNESCO Member States, public and state figures, and representatives of the scientific community take part in the work of the 10th International Forum of NGOs.
Before the opening of the Forum, the President of the V.I. Vernadsky Non-Governmental Environmental Fund V.A. Grachev held a number of business meetings and negotiations with the participants of this scientific event. Thus, the First Deputy Director-General of UNESCO Mr. Xing Qu was assured by V.A. Grachev that Vernadskiy Foundation will continue strengthening cooperation with the Organization, support its initiatives and programs in Russia and in the world for the purposes of sustainable development, in particular in the fields of science and education, environmental protection and combating climate change. In a conversation with the leadership of the UNESCO Secretariat for liaisons with NGOs, Ms. Sabina Colombo and Mr. Philip Bossan, the topic of international cooperation was discussed within the framework of a constructive dialogue with non-governmental partners of UNESCO. Executive Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO G.E. Ordzhonikidze exchanged proposals and plans with V.A. Grachev for Vernadskiy Foundation to participate in the activities of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.
